Interior Designer / Owner
Laura Hatcher is owner and proprietor of Ideology Inc. With over 15 years of experience in the design and construction industry Laura brings insight and detail to every project. Laura's main area of expertise is in Kitchen & Bath Design as well as custom millwork. She studied Product Design at Wayne State University and shortly after begin an internship at a local canbinetry dealer where she fell in love with doing kitchen designs. Soon after she begin working for LaFata Cabinetry but ultimately knew she wanted to have her own dealership and offer full Interior Design services not just cabinetry, so Ideology was born.
Interior Designer / Partner
Amanda has a held positions in both commercial and residential interior design firms. She is a graduate from The College For Creative Studies and has gone on to work for firms like Gensler where she was part of their workplace practice and professional services team. While at Gensler she worked on large projects with DTE Energy, GM, local creative agencies and AT&T. Before leaving Gensler she also worked on the design team for the new Gensler Detroit Office which won an AIA award in 2014. After leaving Gensler, Amanda worked at JPRA Architects where she focused on retail design, working on large scale shopping districts and retailers throughout Canada and the US. Ultimately, Amanda knew she always wanted to have her own interior design practice and made the switch two years ago in joining forces with her sister Laura. There you can find her working on high end residential homes and smaller commercial interiors within the Metro Detroit and Chicago areas. You can also find Amanda teaching part-time at her alma amater (CCS), where she works with Freshman and Senior students in the Interior Design Studio.
